Basic Corner and Position

The corner is very important, that every player will try to get one. Putting a new disc at each turn may possible be a stepping stone for the opponent to get the corner. When this happens, each player must carefully consider the next move to make.

Stable Disc

Why is corner very important? it is because the corner disc can't and will never be flipped until the game ended. This disc that can't be flipped called to be determined or stable disc

Notation

The squares on the reversi board which is reverred using an unique ID is called notation. The main purpose of notation is to record the game and some discussion about the strategy after the game end. 

Notation can also be use for other people to know and to learn the gameplay strategy and improve their own skill. Furthermore, the player can learn the move that make him/her win or lose the game.

  • Reversi - othello played by two players at a 8x8 board game with contains 64 squares.
  • The game begin with 2 black discs and 2 white discs as shown at picture 1.1.
  • The player with black discs always has the first move.
